Anyone can use our Find Tutor hyperlink above to search for a tutor using his/her preferred subject level and location near where he/she is staying. This method may however turn up tens, hundreds or even thousands of tutors for you to choose from.

However, to avoid sifting through the many qualified Singapore tutors to find the right one, you need to register with us as a student. Upon registering as a student, you will immediately be issued a login account and password via your email account that you provide.

You can login into your account using the student ID and password provided to immediately start using our unique search engine. The system allows you to specify your home tuition requirements not just one but many at the same time. For example you can specify that you need a Singapore tutor for Lower Primary, Upper Secondary and Computers category. You will be prompted for the subjects and rate that you are prepared pay for each category.

With your requirement (s) in the system,  you can then start to  select among the many criteria of importance that you think you want the home tutor to meet for each of your requirement(s) by clicking the Matching hyperlink.

For example, you can specify that for Lower Primary tuition, the tutor must be able to teach ALL the subjects that you want by checking the Subjects checkbox. You can also specify that the gender of the home tutor must match exactly the gender of home tutor specified in your requirement for Lower Primary by checking the sex of tutor checkbox. You may also specify that the hourly rate the tutor charges must be lower than or equal to the rate you are prepared to pay by checking the rate checkbox. You can also specify that the qualifications of the Singapore home tutor must be at least higher or equal to the qualifications that you specified in your requirements for Lower Primary by checking the Qualifications checkbox.

The system will then start to search through the database of tutors that matches ALL of the requirements that you selected above when you click the Search button.

We provide two flexible options for Singapore tutors. You can join as a subscriber in one of our Silver, Gold, Platinum plans where you need not pay us any 50% commission for each student assignment that you get through us.

You can also join as free member but a 50% commission will be chargeable on the first month's tuition fees for each student assignment.

Firstly, we will advertise in the classifieds section of Singapore Straits Times newspaper  to promote this website to students and parents who are looking for tutors.

When you decide to join A-Startutor.com as a subscriber where you pay zero commission, there are 3 profile types to choose from. These are Silver Profile, Gold Profile and the Platinum Profile.

In the Silver Profile, you are charged a one time payment of S$23. Your profile shown to parents / students consists of your name, teaching locations, subjects and telephone number. Your profile will be maintained in our database for 3 months (90 days) from the moment we receive your payment. It will be listed in the order of joining date. The newest listed first, the oldest listed last. However, all Silver profiles will be listed after the Gold and Platinum profiles.

In the Gold Profile, you are charged a one time payment of S$43. Your profile shown to parents / students has all the particulars of the Silver profile. Your profile will be maintained in our database for 6 months (180 days) from the moment we receive your payment. In addition, you can include qualifications details eg. transcript of O-levels, A-Levels, ACCA, etc that you want the student to see. However, all Gold profiles will be listed after the Platinum profiles.

In the Platinum Profile, you are charged a one time payment of S$63. Your profile shown to parents / students has all the particulars of the Gold profile. Your profile will be maintained in our database for 9 months (270 days) from the moment we receive your payment. In addition, you can include Experience details that you want the students/parents to see. For example, your  teaching experience as a relief teacher, school teacher, group tuition teacher, etc. And best of all, your profile will be listed before the Gold and Silver profiles.

You can edit or update your profile at anytime by logging in with your login ID and your password. With the login ID, you can perform a search for students matching your tuition preference and request for students to contact you.

Join as Free Tutor Member

You can however opt to join as a free member if the above subscription plans fail to convince you.

Under this free membership, you do not pay any fees until you get your first student assignment. A-Star Tutor will collect 50% of the first month's tuition fees for each student matched.

Your profile will be viewed by students and they will contact A-Star Tutor who will in turn contact you.

You can tap on our experience and charisma to negotiate with the students and parents for the right tuition fees as well as find the right student for you.

You are saved the hassle of sifting through the large number of students requiring tuition some of which may not meet your requirements, tuition subject, fees and preferred location.

You will also be given a login user-id and password through which you can  edit your profile, upgrade to subscription status, and even request for any student profiles in the database. However, you will not be able to contact the students directly and the student cannot contact you as well. All contact will be arranged through A-Star Tutor.
